Desperados creates a Hot Air Balloon Electric Light Orchestra, beating KPIs for engagement by 502%
For our fourth activation we teamed up with party legends Elrow, transforming 7 hot air balloons into an electronic light orchestra. Each balloon was rigged as an instrument, each pilot was a musician and together they played synchronized tracks in the sky over a crowd of thousands in the Pyrenees mountains.

Overall, SkyFest beat Bass Drop, Train Trax and House Party Plugged for Desperados' most watched and shared content ever, with 67 million views-- beating KPIs for engagement by 502% and viewable impressions by 1724%. Live feeds from Desperados and Elrow on Instagram, an immersive Facebook Canvas experience, as well as a hackable YouTube feed where fans could ‘play’ the installation at home optimised the content experience.

We created an innovative way to interact with SkyFest on desktop computers by hacking the YouTube player and transforming it into a musical instrument— letting viewers ‘play’ the Hot Air Balloon Electronic Light Orchestra to create their own songs (above).
