Job Opening | Pi Studios
The Researcher will originate and develop ideas for various documentary and content projects across the Pi Studios slate. As a researcher, you will also be required to fact check films and stories developed by producers from across the world. You may be expected to go on shoots, where you will be responsible for managing contributors, schedules, compliance and assisting the Producer with a variety of tasks.
You will have a working knowledge of the law as it relates to productions in Europe and the rest abroad and be able to assist in requests for information on a range of stories in production.The researcher will be required to identify and assess new material, locate contributors, brief and assist producers and hosts, organise location shoots, research archive material and collate and assess information from various sources.
You may be asked to check final written materials for accuracy and suggest amendments in a helpful and constructive manner. You will be required to play a full and active part in the growth and development of Pi Studios and play a key part in developing franchises and new formats both for our own, sponsored and branded content.
Casting contributors via social media & phone bashing
Gaining access to contacts
Writing treatments & pitching ideas for commissioning
When required to film recce’s and screen tests.
Writing biographies and cutting development tapes of cast
Assisting the PD/Producer & AP on location
Looking after contributors
Filing and organizing contributor release forms
Keeping track of production expenses reconciling and clearing float
Organizing travel and accommodation arrangements for contributors and panel experts
Keeping travel/ security logs updated for the production manager
Drafting Producers/ Management correspondence, release forms
To undertake such other tasks including general administrative duties as may be required from time to time.
